TREKKING
INKA TRAIL
(2 days / 1 night)
The Inka trail is considered one of the most famous treks of the world, for along its route we may appreciate the cultural legacy of the Inkas. . Walk the path of the Inka warrios to the pectacular sanctuary of Machupicchu that evokes the magnificence and importance of the Inka culture. Thousands of people wish to visit Machupicu through the Inka trail, but unfortunately the capacity of the trail is limited, reservations with much time in advance (at least six months) are required.
1ST DAY: CUSCO (Km. 104) - AGUAS CALIENTES
We will depart at 5:45 a.m. in order to take the tourist train towards the km 104 of the railway: Chachabamba -entrance point to the Inka trail of two days. After three hours walking we will arrive to the archeological center of Winñaywayna, where we will have lunch. Right after, we will walk for three hours towards the village of Aguas Calientes, passing through the "Puerta del Sol" (Sun Gate), from where the historic park of Machupicchu may be visited. At Aguas Calientes we will stay in a hostel, with simple and double rooms, with private bathrooms and hot water.
2ND DAY: AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHUPICCHU - CUSCO
After breakfast we will take the first bus uphill from Aguas Calientes to Machupicchu, more or less at 6:00 a.m. Once in Machupicchu we will have a guided tour, in Spanish or English according to request. After the tour we will enjoy some free time to take pictures, visit other sites within the archeological complex, or climb the Huayna Picchu, the mountain located above the site which provides a panoramic view of the whole archeological site. At 4:00 p.m. we will take the return train to Cusco, arriving to the city center at 8:30 p.m.
