TREKKING

INKA TRAIL
(4 days / 3 nights)

The Inka trail is considered one of the most famous treks of the world. Along this route we can witness firsthand the cultural legacy of the Inkas. Follow the footsteps of the powerful Inca rulers, along the same path they took to their sacred city, Machu Picchu. This important archeological site evokes the magnificense of Inka culture and way of life. That is why thousands of people wish to visit Machupicchu through the Inka trail, but unfortunately the capacity of the trail is limited. Please make your reservations with plenty of time in advance, at least 3 months, to ensure a spot on this amazing adventure.

1ST DAY: CUSCO (Km. 82) - LLULLUCHA PAMPA
We begin our trip early in the morning. After picking you up from your respective hotels, we will continue towards the Sacred Valley of the Inkas, passing through Urubamba and Ollantaytambo -important cities of the valley- and continuing till Km. 82 of the train-way to Machu Picchu. Here is where our trek begins. After five hours we will arrive to our campsite, a place called Llulluchapampa, at 3600 m.a.s.l. Panoramic views from the mountain range of Huayanaes are enjoyed here.

2ND DAY: LLULLUCHA PAMPA - HUARMIWAÑUSCA PASS - PHUYUPATAMARKA
We will continue our route towards the highest mountain passage located next to our campsite. It will take us two hours to arrive to Warmiwañusca pass, at 4,200 m.a.s.l. Then we will descend immediately to Pacaymayo. Here starts the true Inka trail. Continuing the trek, we will  ascend to Runcuracay -another archeological Inka complex in the shape of towers dominating the valley. The second day we will camp in Phuyupatamarka, meaning "upon the clouds".

3RD DAY: PHUYUPATAMARCA - WIÑAYHUAYNA
After visiting the Inka military fort at Phuyupatamarca,  we will proceed to descend, for approximately tour hours, to Wiñayhuayna, another marvelous archeological complex where we shall spend the night.

4TH DAY: PHUYUPATAMARCA - MACHUPICCHU - CUSCO
Very early in the morning we will continue the trek towards Machupicchu arriving to the Inti Punku, "sun-gate", in two hours. From there we will have an impressive view of  the majestic city of Machupicchu. We will than arrive to the main complex, where we will be guided across the temples of the sanctuary.
